Thursday May 11, 2017 – Etobicoke man arrested on several warrants

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged an Etobicoke man on several warrants following a Wednesday night incident.

Obstruct Peace Officer/Warrant Arrest:
A 23-year-old Etobicoke man has been arrested and charged following a Wednesday night incident at a Peterborough residence.

Shortly before midnight on May 10, 2017 police were dispatched to a disturbance between two males at a Bolivar Street home.

While speaking with one of the males involved, the man provided officers with a false name.

As a result of the investigation Joshua Emmanuel Audet, 23, of Redwater Drive, Etobicoke, was arrested and charged with obstruct peace officer and failing to comply with a recognizance X2.

Through further investigation it was determined that on May 2, 2017 a warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused on the charge of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 stemming from a 2016 incident involving a stolen vehicle.

It was also determined there were five other outstanding warrants for the accused on charges including failing to attend court and failing to comply with a probation order. The accused was further charged in relation to the outstanding warrants.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (May 11).

Break and Enter: Bensfort Road
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating a break-in at a Bensfort Road home where multiple pieces of jewellery were stolen.

Sometime between May 2, 2017 and May 3, 2017 unknown person(s) broke into a Bensfort Road residence in the City of Peterborough while the homeowner was away. Once inside the thieves stole a quantity of jewellery. The incident was later reported to police and officers attended the residence.
