Rev. Warren Vollmer recognized as Service’s Honorary Police Chaplain

Today we recognized The Reverend Inspector Warren Vollmer as Honorary Police Chaplain for the Peterborough Police Service.

In December 2006 Rev. Vollmer was named the police service’s chaplain and since that time has been a vital member of our team.

“The Reverend Inspector Warren Vollmer has ministered to our members in times of difficulty and triumph,” says Chief Murray Rodd.

“His ministry has involved marriages, christenings, and funerals of members and their families. He has been with our members during the middle of the night and at their bedside when seriously injured. He has provided prayers, guidance and hugs. He will be missed but never forgotten. He made a difference.”

In late 2017 August Rev. Vollmer will begin his new role as Minister of Frankford United Church in Frankford, Ontario.

The ceremony to honour Rev. Vollmer will take place today (Aug. 2) at 11 a.m. in the Peterborough Police Service’s training room.
