Tuesday August 29, 2017 – Two arrested following disturbance and vehicle break-in on Charlotte Street

Assault Peace Officer/Theft Arrest:
Two persons have been arrested and charged following a vehicle break-in on Charlotte Street.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on August 27, 2017 residents in the area of Charlotte Street heard a male and female yelling and causing a disturbance while breaking into a parked SUV.

Police were called and attended the area where they located the damaged vehicle that had a broken front passenger window. The complainant reported that loose change had been stolen from his vehicle along with an automotive battery.

A short time later an officer located the male and female suspects walking in the area of Brock and Chambers Street. The officer attempted to place the woman under arrest at which point she resisted and assaulted the officer. During this time the male suspect fled.

As a result of the investigation Bonnie Elisa McMillian, 30, of Middlefield Road, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Assault peace officer
  • Resist peace officer
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Causing a disturbance
  • Fail to comply with a probation order X2

The female accused was held in custody and appeared in court on August 28, 2017.

On August 28, 2017 a warrant was issued for the arrest of the male suspect. The male attended the Simcoe Street courthouse on August 28, 2017 where he was arrested on the warrant.

Allan James Johnson, 30, of 1st Line, Douro Dummer, is charged with the following:

  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a recognizance X2
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The male accused was held in custody and appeared in court on August 28, 2017.
