Tuesday September 19, 2017 – Peterborough man charged with domestic assault

Domestic Assault Arrest:
A 57-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with assault following a Monday night domestic incident.

On September 18, 2017 the accused and the victim, a woman in her 40’s, became involved in a verbal altercation in a Peterborough parking lot. It was reported that during the incident the accused assaulted the victim. A passerby who witnessed the altercation called police and officers attended the area.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with assault.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Sept. 19).

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.

Public Assistance:
The Peterborough Police Service continues to ask for the public’s assistance in identifying a male in an ongoing theft investigation.

On August 13, 2017 an unknown male broke into a Larmer Line home in the Township of Cavan Monaghan that is currently under construction and stole items including an air compressor and a reciprocating saw

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Caucasian
  • Slender to medium build
  • Long wavy, shoulder length brown hair
  • Dark moustache with goatee and thin growth
  • No glasses
  • Wearing a light coloured T-shirt
  • Dark pants
  • Runners
  • Operating a four-door sedan, plate unknown
