Wednesday September 27, 2017 -Two Peterborough men charged with robbery with violence following Tuesday night incident

Robbery with Violence Arrests:
Two Peterborough men have been arrested and charged after a male was assaulted and robbed Tuesday night.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on September 26, 2017 a 27-year-old man was walking alone in the area of George and Lake Streets when he was approached by two men he doesn’t know. The two males assaulted the victim and stole his backpack. A bystander came to the aid of the victim and held one of the suspects until police arrival.

Officers arrived on scene and located one of the male suspects still in the area. A short time later officers located the second male suspect in the area of Park and Townsend Streets.

As a result of the investigation the following persons were arrested and charged:

Nathaniel Robert Blair, 19, of Murray Street, is charged with the following:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Fail to comply with a sentence
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

Michael Thomas, 22, of no fixed address, Peterborough, is charged with the following:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

Both accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court later today (Sept. 27).
