Friday October 13, 2017 – Police investigating overnight stabbing in area of George & Hunter Street

Ongoing Investigation:
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating following an overnight stabbing in the area of George and Hunter Streets.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on October 13, 2017 officers on patrol in the downtown attended the area of George and Hunter Streets for an injured male. It was reported that the male had become involved in an altercation with two unknown males and during the altercation sustained a stab wound and lacerations. The male victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, treated and released. During the investigation police recovered a weapon (knife) from the scene.

  • 170lbs
  • Skinny build
  • Wearing boots, khaki pants, a black sweater and a flat brimmed black hat

Police are no longer on scene and roads in the area are open. It is believed there is no threat to public safety.
