Oct. 14 – 16, 2017 – Etobicoke man charged with extortion and transmitting intimate images without consent

Extortion Arrest:
A 36-year-old Etobicoke man has been charged with extortion and transmitting intimate images without consent following an investigation.

The investigation revealed that during a domestic relationship between the accused and the victim in 2016 and 2017 the accused took intimate photos of the victim, a woman in her 30’s, without her consent and distributed those photos without her consent.

That relationship has since ended and through the investigation it has been revealed that the accused is threatening to release those intimate images without the victim’s consent if she does not comply with his demands regarding a childcare issue.

On October 13, 2017 a warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused for the offences of extortion and transmit intimate image without consent.

On October 14, 2017 the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) contacted the Peterborough Police Service advising they had the accused in custody on the warrant at the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Peterborough Police officers travelled to a Toronto address where the accused was turned over to Peterborough Police custody and arrested on the warrant.

The accused appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on October 15, 2017, was released from custody and is scheduled to re-attend a Peterborough court on November 2, 2017.

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.

Break and Enter Arrest:
A Peterborough teen is facing several charges after a Caddy Street home was broken into where he was confronted and apprehended by the residents.

On the night of October 13, 2017 police received several calls for service regarding a suspicious male in the area of Armour Road and McFarlane Street. Police attended the area but did not locate the male.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. that same night police received a call about a break and enter in progress at a Caddy Street home. While the residents were watching television they heard a noise in the upstairs of their home. When they investigated the noise they located an unknown male inside their house. One of the residents called 9-1-1 while the other resident attempted to apprehend the male. Police arrived on scene and placed the unknown male under arrest, during which time he resisted. The male was also found to be in possession of an amount of marijuana and hashish.

Through further investigation it was revealed the same male had stolen money from a vehicle parked at an Armour Road residence, had broken into another home on Armour Road and stolen a laptop and had attempted to break into a third residence on Armour Road.

As a result of the investigation Alexander John Burke, 18, of King George Street, Peterborough, is charged with the following:

  • Break and Enter X2
  • Attempt break and enter
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Resist peace officer
  • Possession of a schedule II substance X2
  • Breach of probation X4

The accused appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on October 14, 2017.

Domestic Assault Arrest:
A 21-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with four counts of domestic assault following an investigation.

On October 15, 2017 the accused and victim became involved in a verbal dispute at a Peterborough residence during which time the victim was assaulted. Officers were called and attended the area.

Through further investigation it was revealed that the victim, a woman in her 20’s, had been assaulted on three previous occasions dating back to 2016. During one of the previous incidents it was reported that the accused damaged the victim’s vehicle.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault X4 and mischief.

The accused appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on October 15, 2017.

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.

Criminal Harassment Arrest:
The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 37-year-old man with criminal harassment and breaking into his ex-partners residence.

The accused and the victim, a woman in her 40’s, were involved in a domestic relationship that came to an end in September 2017. Following the end of the relationship it was reported to police that the accused made repeated and unwanted contact with the victim through various means including numerous text messages, phone calls and voice messages. It was also reported that on October 15, 2017 the accused broke into the victim’s residence while she was inside.

As a result of the investigation on the night of October 15, 2017 police attended a Peterborough residence where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and break and enter.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Oct. 16).

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.

Break and Enter Arrests:
Two Peterborough men have been charged with break and enter following an investigation.

On October 13, 2017 police were called to an Aylmer Street North residence for a break and enter. When the homeowner had returned to his home he saw that his residence had been broken into and he located the two co-accused on the property. The victim and the co-accused know each other.

On October 14, 2017 the co-accused attended the police station where, as a result of the investigation, they were placed under arrest.

Justin Michael Dimock, 26, of Aylmer Street North and Kevin Robert Dimock, 24, of Water Street, are charged with break and enter.

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on November 2, 2017.

Break-in: King George Street
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating following a break-in at a King George Street residence.

Sometime on October 14, 2017 unknown person(s) broke into the home through an insecure door while the homeowner was away. Once inside the thieves stole a large quantity of jewellery valued in the thousands of dollars.
