Human Trafficking Arrest:
An 18-year-old Toronto man has been charged with human trafficking following an investigation.

In late August 2017 the Peterborough Police Service began a human trafficking investigation. Through the investigation it was revealed that in August of 2017 the accused created online ads advertising the victim, a Peterborough teen, for sex and forced the victim to have unwanted sexual relations with other individuals for money, which was handed over to the accused. The victim was 18 years old at the time the offences took place.

As a result of the investigation on September 20, 2017 a warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused. On October 20, 2017 the accused was located at a Toronto courthouse where he was appearing on other matters and was arrested on the warrant.

Deandre Dwayne Dudley, 18, of Bloomington Crescent, Toronto is charged with the following:

  • Traffick in persons
  • Procuring
  • Material benefit from sexual services (living off the avails)
  • Fail to comply with a recognizance
  • Fail to comply with a sentence

The accused was transported back to Peterborough and attended weekend and statutory holiday court on October 21, 2017.

Aggravated Assault Arrest:
A 22-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with aggravated assault following a weekend altercation.

On October 22, 2017 at approximately 1:45 a.m. officers on general patrol in the area of Charlotte and Louis Streets saw two parties involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation the officers observed a male kick the victim, a male in his 40’s, to the ground and then continued to kick the victim in the head.

As a result of the investigation officers placed the accused under arrest. EMS also attended the scene where the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment to his injuries. The two males know each other.

Braiden Joseph Donoghue, 22, of Hunter Street West, Peterborough, is charged with aggravated assault and fail to comply with a probation order.

The accused appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on October 22, 2017.

Assault Arrest:
The Peterborough Police Service has charged a 42-year-old man with assault following an incident earlier in October.

On October 13, 2017 the accused, a 42-year-old man, and the victim, a woman in her 20’s, became involved in an argument while at a Peterborough residence. During the argument it was reported that the accused punched the victim in the face then left the residence. Police and EMS attended the residence.

On October 14, 2017 police attended a Cavan-Monaghan address where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was placed under arrest.

Christopher James Renwick, 42, of Carolyn Street, Cavan-Monaghan, is charged with assault.

The accused was released from custody on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in court on November 9, 2017.

Causing a Disturbance Arrest:
A 24-year-old Lindsay man has been charged with causing a disturbance following a weekend incident outside a downtown restaurant.

On October 21, 2017 at approximately 3:15 a.m. police received numerous 9-1-1 calls in regards to a fight taking place outside a Charlotte Street restaurant.

When officers arrived on scene they saw a crowd of 15 to 20 people on the sidewalk watching two male parties yelling at each other and attempting to start a fight.

Police separated the two parties and one of the males continued yelling at screaming while at the corner of George and Charlotte Streets while patrons continued to watch.

As a result of the investigation Riley Miller, 24, of Grey Road, Lindsay, is charged with causing a disturbance.

The accused was released from custody on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in court on November 9, 2017.
