Fraud Under $5,000 Arrest:
A 43-year-old Peterborough woman has been charged following a fraud investigation.

In late September 2017 police were contacted and began a fraud investigation regarding inconsistencies involving rent money.

It was reported that between June and September 2017 the accused collected rent money from tenants at a Peterborough apartment building. The investigation revealed that while the accused provided tenants with rent receipts indicating they had paid in full the accused had withheld a portion of the money collected instead of turning over the entire sum to the property management company. The accused is employed by the property management company.

On October 2, 2017 police attended a Peterborough address where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged.

Tianna Simpson, 43, of Settlers Ridge, Peterborough, is charged with fraud under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 19, 2017.
