Wednesday October 11, 2017 – Police investigating after Thanksgiving Weekend mischief at local elementary school

Public Assistance:
The Peterborough Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance after a local elementary school was spray painted during the Thanksgiving Weekend.

Sometime between October 7, 2017 and October 9, 2017 unknown persons(s) used black spray paint and caused mischief to St. John Catholic Elementary School located on Park Street South in Peterborough. Police were notified of the mischief on October 10, 2017.

The large initials of “O.G.B.B.” and O.G.B.B.D” were painted on the school’s northwest corner wall and exterior gym door. (Please see photos below). At this time the meaning of the script is unknown.

Break-in Crawford Drive:
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after thousands of dollars’ worth of tools were stolen from a work van parked in a lot on Crawford Drive.

Sometime between 6 p.m. on October 6, 2017 and 7:45 a.m. on October 10, 2017 unknown person(s) broke into a locked work van that was parked in a secured lot on Crawford Drive. Once inside the van the thieves stole more than $8,000 worth of tools.
