Wednesday October 25, 2017 – Peterborough man charged with human trafficking

Human Trafficking Arrest:
A 35-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with human trafficking following an investigation.

In late August 2017 the Peterborough Police Service began a human trafficking investigation. Through the investigation it was revealed that between March 2017 and August of 2017 the accused created online ads advertising the female victim, a Peterborough teen, for sex and forced the victim to have unwanted sexual relations with other individuals for money, which was handed over to the accused. The victim was 18 years old at the time the offences took place.

Through the investigation it was revealed that the victim in this investigation is the same victim from the previous incident Media Release for October 24, 2017 

As a result of the investigation on September 20, 2017 a warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused. On October 24, 2017 the accused was located in the Durham region by the Durham Regional Police and arrested on the warrant. Peterborough Police officers attended Durham where they continued the arrest and transported the accused back to Peterborough.

Stephan Damian Graham, 35, of Brown Street, Peterborough, is charged with the following:

  • Traffick in persons
  • Procuring
  • Material benefit from sexual services (living off the avails)
  • Fail to comply with a recognizance
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Oct. 25).
