Friday November 24, 2017 – Youth arrested following incident at elementary school

Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose Arrest:
A 13-year-old Peterborough youth is facing charges following an incident at a local elementary school.

On November 22, 2017 police attended a local elementary school for an incident. It was reported that while on morning break a male student was in possession of a weapon and was using it to threaten other students in the school yard. When officers arrived they located the youth along with the weapon, which was determined to be a plastic toy gun capable of discharging plastic beads.

As a result of the investigation the youth was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The youth was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to attend court on December 18, 2017.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act the name of a young person cannot be released.

Warrant Arrest:
The Peterborough Police Service has arrested a 35-year-old man on a warrant following a theft incident at a Charlotte Street store.

On November 21, 2017 staff at the store saw a person enter the shop, select clothing off the shelf and conceal the items in a backpack and under his clothing. When confronted by staff the person pushed past an employee and left the store without paying. Police were called and attended the store.

Through the investigation the suspect was identified. On November 22, 2017 a warrant was issued for the arrest of Robert Joseph Feeley, 35, of Hulls Road, Lakefield, for the charges of theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on November 23, 2017 the accused was located by officers walking in the area of Sherbrooke and Stewart Streets.

The accused was arrested on the warrant, released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 14, 2017.
