Friday November 3, 2017: Arrest made in Halloween night stabbing incident

Aggravated Assault Arrest:
A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a stabbing incident on Halloween night.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. on October 31, 2017 police attended the area of Park Street North for a 24-year-old injured male outside a residence.

Through the investigation it was revealed that the accused and the victim, who know each other, had become involved in a physical altercation during which point the victim was stabbed with a knife. EMS also attended and the male was taken to a Toronto hospital via air ambulance for treatment to his injuries. The victim’s condition is currently stable.

On November 2, 2017 the accused was located at a Murray Street address where he was arrested and charged.

Larry Robert Tripp, 47, of no fixed address, Peterborough, is charged with the following:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Fail to comply with a recognizance

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Nov.3).

Further, Nicole Lynn Fountain, 33, of Murray Street, Peterborough, was arrested on November 2, 2017 and charged with obstruct peace officer for wilfully withholding information during the police investigation.

The accused was released from custody on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in court on November 30, 2017.

Drug Arrest:
A 51-year-old Peterborough man has been charged following a traffic stop.

On November 2, 2017 at approximately 7 p.m. an officer on patrol in the area of Sherbrooke Street and Clonsilla Avenue conducted a traffic stop after their police cruiser was cut off by another vehicle driving in the area at the same time, almost causing a collision.

While speaking with the driver, officers noted an odour of marijuana and observed marijuana resin in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Leo John Delaire, 51, of Southpark Drive, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II substance (Marijuana under 30 grams).

During a subsequent search, officers located marijuana and Oxycocet pills. The accused was further charged with possession of a schedule II substance (marijuana resin) and possession of a schedule I substance (Oxycocet). The accused was also charged with various Highway Traffic Act offences including driving with no permit and no insurance.

The accused was released from custody on a promise to appear in court on November 30, 2017.
