Assault and disarm police Arrest:
On December 21, 2017 shortly after midnight police responded to a call regarding and intoxicated male trying to start fights with people in the area of Bonnacord street. Police also responded to a call regarding an unwanted male in the same area. It was later determined that it was the same male. Police spoke to the male who was belligerent and abusive. The male reached for an officer’s duty belt and attempted to pull items from the belt resulting a magazine from the officer’s duty belt for his service pistol being ripped off which fell to the ground.
When officers attempted to arrest the male a struggle ensued and the male attempted to get an officers service pistol out of its holster.
Eventually the male was subdued and secured. Charged with mischief and attempting to disarm a peace officer is Timothy Fowler, 38, of Selwyn. He will appear in court on January 11, 2018.
Assault and Mischief Arrest:
On December 10, around 2:30 a.m. security at the King Street parking garage observed two males hanging around a city vehicle parked in the garage. Security observed one of the males jump onto the hood of the vehicle and begin jumping up and down on it.
Security confronted the males and after a brief conversation one of the males grabbed the security officer by the chest. When a struggle ensued the second male also attacked the security officer. A passerby contacted police who attended to assist. Charged as a result of the investigation was Ryan Kee, 21, of Peterborough. He was charged with assault and mischief. He will appear in court on the January 4, 2018.
Also charged with assault and mischief is Mitchell Dewdney, 22 years. He will also appear in court on the 04th of January 2018
On December 26, 2017 security at a local retail store observed a female in the store selecting items off the shelf and placing them into a shopping bag.The bag was turned over to another female who then took the items to the return desk and received cash for the unpaid items. Charged with fraud under $5,000 was Joanna Mahaffey, 37, of Peterborough. She will appear in court on January 11, 2018.
