Friday December 1, 2017 – Lock-it-or-lose it

The Peterborough Police Services continues to urge residents to lock their cars and keep valuables hidden following further thefts from vehicles in Lakefield.

Sometime overnight on November 28, 2017 unknown person(s) entered a vehicle parked at a residence on Nelson Street in Lakefield and stole items including a wallet containing identification.

Between 5:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. on November 30, 2017 thieves smashed a driver’s side rear window to a vehicle parked in a lot on Concession Street in Lakefield and stole a purse that had been left on the center console. The purse contained a large quantity of cash along with personal identification and credit cards. A second vehicle also had a window smashed during that time period however it is unknown what, if any, property was taken as the owner did not remain on scene to speak with police.
