Friday December 1, 2017 – Peterborough resident charged with sexual assault following investigation

Sexual Assault Arrest:
A 24-year-old Peterborough resident has been charged with sexual assault following an investigation.

It was reported to police that on November 25, 2017 the victim had been sexually assaulted while she was at a social gathering at a Peterborough residence. The accused and victim know each other.

As a result of the investigation on November 30, 2017 Garrett James Nodin, 24, of Murray Street, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with sexual assault and failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on November 30, 2017.

Domestic Assault Arrest:
A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges including assault following a domestic incident.

On December 1, 2017 officers were dispatched to a Peterborough residence for a domestic dispute. It was reported that during an argument between the accused and victim the victim had been assaulted, choked and threatened.

The accused was located outside the residence where, as a result of the investigation, he was arrested and charged with the following:

Domestic assault
Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person
Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Dec. 1).

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.
