Thursday December 14, 2017 – Peterborough resident charged following fraud at local store

Fraud under Arrest:
A 30-year-old Peterborough resident is facing charges following a fraud incident at a local store.

On December 13, 2017 at approximately 7:10 p.m. a loss prevention officer at a Lansdowne Street West store saw a person enter the store, select various products from the shelves, attend the customer service desk and return the products using an old receipt. The person was arrested by a store loss prevention officer and police attended to continue the arrest.

As a result of the investigation John Robert Thibeault, 30, of Parkhill Road West, is charged with fraud under $5,000 and fail to comply X2.

Farm Vehicle Safety Presentation:
Today (Dec. 14) the Peterborough Police Service’s Traffic Management Unit and Community Patrol Unit in conjunction with the Ministry of Transportation are hosting a free farm vehicle safety presentation from 10 a.m. to noon in the gymnasium at the Cavan Monaghan Township Office, 988 County Road 10, Millbrook.

The information session is regarding the safe use of farm vehicles on township roads and highways and the requirements under the Highway Traffic Act. Media are invited to attend.
