A 35-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with assault following an investigation.
On December 5, 2017 a dispute took place between the accused and the victim, the accused’s stepson who is under 16 years, during which time the victim was struck in the face. The incident was reported to police on December 6, 2017.
As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested at a Peterborough residence on December 6, 2017 and charged with assault.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 21, 2017.
In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic-based incident the name of the accused will not be released.
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating following a Wednesday afternoon robbery.
Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on December 6, 2017 the victim attended a bank machine located at the corner of George and Hunter Streets and withdrew a large amount of cash.
As the victim was walking through a nearby alleyway he was assaulted by an unknown male and robbed of his coat, cell phone and cash.
The only description is that the suspect is male and approximately 5’11” to 6’0” tall.

Theft from Vehicles in Lakefield:
The Peterborough Police Service is continuing to investigate and asking the public to come forward with information following several break-ins to vehicles in Lakefield.
As was issued in a previous media release, on November 23, 2017 during the late evening hours numerous vehicles on Coyle Crescent in Lakefield were entered and property stolen.
We have received a description of a possible suspect. The suspect is described as a male wearing what appeared to be a “blanket-type” hoodie, possibly white, attached or under a green jacket with black shoulders.
