The Peterborough Police Service is asking for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a pedestrian was struck by a car on Hilliard Street.
The incident took place at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday December 19, 2017 as the female pedestrian was attempting to cross Hilliard Street, just south of Marina Boulevard. EMS and police attended and the pedestrian was taking to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses or those with information are asked to please contact PC Jason Cannon at 705-876-1122. The investigation continues.
A 31-year-old Bewdley resident is facing charges after stolen bank cards were fraudulently used to withdraw money from the victim’s account.
In late August or early September 2017 the victim had her bank cards stolen from her vehicle. The stolen cards were then used by an unknown suspect at local ATM machines to fraudulently withdraw money from her account. The suspect had also deposited a blank envelope into the victim’s account and then withdrew money from the account. Through the investigation the suspect was identified.
On December 17, 2017 police attended a Bewdley residence where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested.
Aubrey Ryan Northey, 31, of Poplar Drive, Bewdley, is charged with the following:
- Fraud under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (stolen bank cards)
- Fail to comply with a probation order
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 4, 2018.
The Peterborough Police Service has arrested a 28-year-old man on a warrant for charges including possession of stolen property and using a stolen credit card.
In late November 2017 the victim had his credit card stolen from his vehicle that was parked at a Cumberland Avenue residence. An unknown suspect then used the stolen credit card at a local convenience store and attempted to use the credit card several more times at stores but was unsuccessful.
Through the investigation the suspect was identified. On December 15, 2017 a warrant was issued for the arrest of Roland William Ferguson, 28, of Sherbrooke Street, for the charges of use of credit card, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and fail to comply with a recognizance.
On December 19, 2017 police located the accused in the area of Dalhousie and Park Streets where he was arrested on the warrant.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Dec. 19).
