Emergency Response Unit

The mandate of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) is to effectively and safely contain and control situations involving armed or potentially armed suspects. They also handle other dangerous incidents where their expertise is best suited to resolve the situation peacefully and successfully.

The current team consists of 10 members who have received specialized training and have access to a variety of weapons and tools to assist them with their assignments. They also meet on a regular basis to conduct various training exercises and must meet yearly standards for weapons proficiency and fitness.

Available 24/7, the Emergency Response Team is dedicated to helping support front line police officers and keeping our communities safe.
