High Risk Vehicle Stop


On Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at approximately 11:00 pm, members of the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, along with the assistance of Uniform Officers, conducted a high risk vehicle stop on Lansdowne Street at Clonsilla Avenue.

The vehicle stop was the result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking that once again extended from Peterborough to the Greater Toronto Area.

The two accused in this matter are believed to be responsible for the distribution of Cocaine within the City of Peterborough to various lower level drug traffickers as well as drug users and addicts.

The following list summarizes items and totals seized as a result of the traffic stop:

Seized:
• 608 grams (21.71 ounces) of Cocaine
• 24 grams of Marihuana
• Cell phones
• Vehicle (2001 Hyundai XG3)
• $215.00

The total estimated street value of the seizure is $61,000.

• Three people were arrested and two were charged. The third person was released.

Accused:

Jonathan Morningstar, 19 years old, of Peterborough
Charges: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Marihuana and Possession of Proceeds of Crime. Morningstar was held in custody and will appear in Court later today, February 22, 2012.

Teresa Hrncie, 25 years old, of Peterborough
Charges: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Marihuana. Hrncie was held in custody and will appear in Court later today, February 22, 2012.
