Over 80mg Arrest:
A 24-year-old Peterborough man has been charged following a weekend collision involving a vehicle colliding with a hydro pole.

On April 15, 2018 at approximately 1:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the intersection of River Road South and Southlawn Drive for a single motor vehicle collision. The vehicle, driven by the accused, had collided with a hydro pole. Both EMS and Fire services were also on scene. While speaking with the driver of the vehicle officers noted a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath.

A subsequent breath test revealed the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system while operating a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Bradley Tyler Wall, 24, of Sherbrooke Street, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80mgs blood alcohol content. The accused was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and a seven day car impoundment.

The accused was further charged under the Highway Traffic Act with drive motor vehicle no permit, drive motor vehicle no validation on plate and owner operate motor vehicle no insurance.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 10, 2018.

Domestic Assault Arrest:
A 38-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with domestic assault following a weekend incident.

On the night of April 15, 2018 the accused and the victim, a woman in her 30’s, became involved in an argument at their Peterborough residence. The argument escalated and it was reported that the accused assaulted the victim. The victim was able to leave the residence and police were called and attended.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 10, 2018.

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.
