Wednesday May 16, 2018 – Peterborough man is facing charges including possessing cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking following drug investigation

Drug Arrest:
A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges including possessing cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking following a drug investigation.

As a result of an ongoing investigation on May 15, 2018 members of the Peterborough Police Service’s ICAD (Intelligence, Crime Analyst, Asset Forfeiture and Drug) Unit located the accused in a Lansdowne Street West parking lot where he was arrested and charged.

During the search incident to arrest officers located cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana and an amount of Canadian currency on the accused.

Jordan Samuel Pereira, 26, of no fixed address, Peterborough, is charged with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Crack cocaine)
  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking (Marijuana under 3kg)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (May 16).

Domestic assault with a weapon Arrest:
A 24-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges including domestic assault and assault with a weapon following an investigation.

The accused, a 24-year-old Peterborough man, and the victim, a woman in her late teens, are currently in a domestic relationship. On May 15, 2018 it was reported to police that during separate incidents in May of 2018 the accused assaulted the victim, threw a glass object at her striking her and brandished a knife and threatened the victim.

On May 15, 2018 officers attended a Peterborough residence where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Domestic assault X2
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Fail to comply with a probation order X2

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (May 16).

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.
