Monday July 9, 2018 – Peterborough man charged following stabbing at Stewart Street residence

A 22-year-old Peterborough man has been charged following a stabbing at a Stewart Street residence.

At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Friday July 6, 2018 police received a call for service regarding an adult male reportedly stabbed by his stepson while at a residence on Stewart Street.

Officers attended the residence where they located the victim with a stab wound along with a knife. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later left.

The accused was located at the residence where, as a result of the investigation, he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and fail to comply with a probation order.

The accused appeared in court on July 6, 2018, was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear again in court on July 10, 2018.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this family-related incident the name of the accused will not be released.

Police are no longer on scene.
