Thursday July 12, 2018 – Police investigating after vehicle break-ins during soccer game in Cavan

Theft from Vehicles:
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after four vehicles were broken into during a soccer game in the Township of Cavan Monaghan.

On July 11, 2018 between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. the victims had parked their cars in the parking lot of Maple Leaf Park in Cavan and attended a soccer game in the park. During that time unknown person(s) smashed the window to the vehicles stealing items including purses, cash and designer sunglasses.

Assault Arrest:
Two Peterborough residents are facing charges following an assault incident earlier in July.

Shortly after midnight on July 3, 2018 officers were dispatched to a multiunit residence in Peterborough for a disturbance. It was reported that while the female victim was at the residence visiting a friend she was assaulted by an unknown female. Information was also received that a male at the residence at the time of the incident had brandished a pocket knife and uttered threats toward the victim.

Through the investigation the co-accused were identified and on July 4, 2018 warrants were issued for their arrest.

On July 7, 2018 the accused was located at a Peterborough residence and arrested on the warrant.

  • Chad Allan Drury, 25, of Sherbrooke Street, is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2018.

On July 11, 2018 the second accused was located at a Peterborough residence and arrested on the warrant.

  • Jenna Marie Kennedy, 22, of Chamberlain Street, is charged with assault. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 2, 2018.

Drug Arrests:
Two Peterborough residents have been charged with possession of cocaine following an investigation in a local park.

On the morning of July 10, 2018 an officer on general bike patrol was approached by a concerned citizen regarding suspicious activity taking place in a park.

The officer attended the park and located two males who, through the following investigation, were found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine.

As a result of the investigation the following persons were arrested and charged:

  • Brandon Cox, 32, of Murray Street, is charged with possession of a schedule I substance (Cocaine) and fail to comply with a probation order. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2018.
  • Chandler Jacob Jessup, 20, of Murray Street, is charged with possession of a schedule I substance (Cocaine).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2018.

Assault Arrest:
A 40-year-old Peterborough resident has been charged with assault following an incident in a Peterborough parking lot.

On July 9, 2018 the accused and victim, who know each other, became involved in a verbal dispute in a parking lot. During the dispute it was reported that the accused assaulted the victim. The victim left the area and police were contacted.

Later that same day officers located the accused at a Peterborough residence where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was placed under arrest.

Angela Manley, 40, of Royal Drive, Peterborough, is charged with assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2018.

Assault Arrest:
The Peterborough Police Service has made an arrest following an assault at a Peterborough residence.

On July 7, 2018 the accused was at a Peterborough residence socializing with acquaintances when a verbal dispute took place. During the dispute it was reported that the accused assaulted the female victim.

On July 10, 2018 officers located the accused in the area of Wolfe Street where, as a result of the investigation, he was placed under arrest.

David Anthony Stocks, 33, of Murray Street, is charged with assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2018.

Use of Credit Card Arrest:
A Peterborough resident has been arrested and charged after a stolen credit card was fraudulently used at local stores and restaurants.

On June 20, 2018 the victim had her purse containing credit cards stolen from her vehicle. A stolen credit card was then fraudulently used at various fast food restaurants and convenience stores in the City.

Through the investigation the accused was identified. On July 10, 2018 officers located the accused in the area of Bethune and Sherbrooke Streets.

As a result of the investigation Candice Mary Moss, 37, of Stewart Street, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with use of credit card and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on July 11, 2018.
