Wednesday July 11, 2018 – Peterborough man facing aggravated assault and assault with a weapon charges following investigation

Domestic Aggravated Assault Arrest:
A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing aggravated assault and assault with a weapon charges following an investigation.

On July 1, 2018 the accused and victim, who are in an on-again-off-again relationship, became involved in an argument during which point the victim was assaulted and struck with a rock. EMS attended and the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police were also contacted and investigated.

Through further investigation it was revealed that the victim had also been assaulted by the accused in May of 2017 and January of 2018.

On July 10, 2018 officers located the accused in a Peterborough parking lot where, as a result of the investigation, he was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Aggravated assault X3
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (July 11).

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

Break and Enter Arrest:
The Peterborough Police Service has made an arrest following a break-in at a Lansdowne Street West business.

On the night of July 4, 2018 an unknown suspect broke into the business on Lansdowne Street West stealing a large amount of cash from the cash register. The suspect then fled the area. Through the investigation the male suspect was identified.

On July 10, 2018 an officer on patrol located the suspect in the area of George and King Streets.

As a result of the investigation Jesse Gerold Armitage, 32, of Murray Street, was arrested and charged with break and enter.

On June 4, 2018 a set of headphones were stolen from a Lansdowne Street West store. On June 5, 2018 a laptop and set of speakers were stolen from the same store. Through further investigation the accused was also identified in relation to these incidents.

As a result of further investigation Armitage was additionally charged with theft under $5,000.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (July 11).

Possession of Stolen Property Arrests:
Two Peterborough women have been arrested and charged after a stolen credit card was used at local stores.

On June 21, 2018 the victim had her credit card stolen while at a Charlotte Street car wash. The stolen credit card was then used several times at various stores across the City.

Through the investigation the two suspects were identified.

On July 8, 2018 the accused was located and arrested.

Tracy Marie Gallant, 37, of Murray Street, is charged with the following:

  • Use of credit card
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

On July 11, 2018 the second accused was located and arrested.

Shannon Marie Quigley, 44, of Murray Street, is charged with the following:

  • Use of credit card X4
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2018.
