Two Peterborough men have been arrested and charged after a Charlotte Street shop owner was threatened.
On July 5, 2018 at approximately 8:10 a.m. police attended a Charlotte Street business for an unwanted person. It was reported that the male was asked to leave as he was causing a scene. The male continued to yell as he left the store. Once outside the store the male met with another male whom he knows and the two men threatened the shop owner.
As a result of the investigation, on July 6, 2018 a warrant was issued for the co-accused.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on July 7, 2018 the accused, Justin Frank Daly, 26, of no fixed address, Peterborough, was located by officers walking in the area of Park and Charlotte Streets. The accused was arrested on the warrant and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
On July 7, 2018 at approximately 8:20 p.m. an officer on patrol located the accused, Trevin James Rodda, 22, of Brock Street, riding a bicycle in the area of Monaghan Road and Lansdowne Street. The accused was arrested on the warrant and charged with uttering threats to damage property and fail to comply with a probation order.
Further, on the night of June 10, 2018 a 22-year-old male was assaulted while at a Park Street North residence. Through the investigation the two accused in this incident were identified.
Rodda was also additionally charged with assault and fail to comply with a probation order in relation to the June 10, 2018 incident.
Daly was also additionally charged with assault also in relation to the June 10, 2018 incident.
Both accused appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on July 8, 2018, were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear again in court later today (July 9).
