Break and Enter Arrest:
A 25-year-old Peterborough resident has been arrested and charged following a break-in to an Aylmer Street South home.

At approximately 2 p.m. on August 3, 2018 an unknown male broke into an Aylmer Street South home via an insecure window. Once inside the male ransacked the residence and stole many items including a television, clothes and jewellery.

The homeowner returned to find the unknown male leaving the residence carrying the property. A confrontation took place and the male dropped the bags of property and fled the area on foot. Police were called and officers were dispatched to the area. Shortly after, police received a second call regarding an unknown male with the same description going through backyards in the area of Pine Street.

Officers located the suspect in the area of Pine and Romaine Streets where, as a result of the investigation, he was placed under arrest.

Randy Lee Vilneff, 25, of Lansdowne Street East, is charged with break and enter and fail to comply with a probation order.

The accused appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on August 4, 2018.
