Domestic assault causing bodily harm arrest:

A 33-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm following a weekend domestic dispute.

At approximately 2 a.m. on February 2, 2019 the accused and the female victim became involved in an argument at their Peterborough residence. It was reported that during the argument the accused assaulted the victim. Following the incident the accused left the residence. The victim attended a local hospital where her injuries were assessed and treated. The incident was reported to police on February 3, 2019.

On February 3, 2019 officers attended a Peterborough address where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 21, 2019.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

Impaired/Drug arrest:

A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired driving and drug charges following a single vehicle collision.

On February 3, 2019 at approximately 2:30 a.m. police received a 9-1-1 call regarding a vehicle that had struck a hydro pole in front of a Homewood Avenue residence.

While speaking with the male driver of the vehicle the officer noted the strong odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the male. A subsequent breath test revealed the driver had more than 80mgs blood alcohol content while operating a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Nathan Clifford, 25, of Glenforest Boulevard, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired.

Through further investigation the accused was found to be in possession of cocaine and crack cocaine. The accused was further charged with possession of a schedule I substance (Cocaine).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 19, 2019.

Over 80mgs arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 27-year-old Peterborough resident following a traffic stop in the Village of Lakefield.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. on February 2, 2019 an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Concession and Queen Streets in Lakefield for a vehicle travelling with an expired validation sticker.

During the investigation the officer observed open alcohol inside the vehicle. A subsequent breath test revealed the driver had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system while operating a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Robert Barry Feddery, 27, of no fixed address, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80plus. The accused was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with drive motor vehicle- no validation on plate.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 19, 2019.

Break and enter arrest:

A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges including break and enter and possession of stolen property following an incident in late January.

On January 24, 2019 an unknown male entered an office located inside a fast food establishment at Peterborough Square and stole a wallet from the office.

The stolen bank card was then used at several stores in Peterborough. Through the investigation the accused was identified.

On January 31, 2019 officers located the accused at a George Street North address.

As a result of the investigation Trevor Roderick  Kotzma, 22, of Brock Street, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Use of credit card
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on February 1, 2019.

Domestic assault arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 55-year-old Peterborough man with domestic assault, uttering threats and mischief following a Sunday evening incident.

On February 3, 2019 at approximately 7 p.m. the accused attended the female victim’s residence to retrieve property following the ending of their relationship. It was reported that while at the residence the accused assaulted and threatened the victim and damaged her property.

The incident was reported to police and officers attended. As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Assault
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 19, 2019.

Break and enter:

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after an office located inside a George Street building was entered and cash stolen.

Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on January 29, 2019 and 7:30 a.m. on January 30, 2019 unknown person(s) entered an office located inside the Sadleir House building and stole an amount of cash from a cash box.

Domestic assault arrest:

A 35-year-old Peterborough woman has been charged with domestic assault following a weekend incident.

On February 2, 2019 the accused and male victim were at the Peterborough apartment when they became involved in a verbal dispute. It was reported that during the dispute the accused assaulted the victim. The incident was reported to police and officers attended.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 21, 2019.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

Break and enter/Mischief arrest:

A 39-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges following a break-in to his ex-partner’s home.

The accused and the female victim were in a previous domestic relationship. At approximately 2:30 a.m. on February 2, 2019 the accused attended the victim’s residence and broke into the residence through a window. The accused then left the residence and while outside the home kicked a chair, causing it to break.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was held in custody and appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on February 2, 2019.
