Friday February 1, 2019 – Peterborough man arrested and charged with sexual assault and break and enter following an investigation

Historical sexual assault arrest:

A 26-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and break and enter following an investigation.

In September of 2017 an unknown male entered the female victim’s Peterborough residence during which time she was sexually assaulted. The incident was later reported to police. The accused and victim do not know each other.

On January 31, 2019 the accused turned himself in at the Peterborough Police station.

As a result of the investigation Adam James Bullock, 26, of Meadowview Road, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Sexual assault
  • Break and enter

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on January 31, 2019.

Killing, injuring or endangering animals arrest :

A 36-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged after a dog was assaulted while in the backyard of a Peterborough home.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 24, 2019 police received a call for service regarding the wellbeing of a dog at a Hilliard Street residence.

It was reported to police that while the accused was at the residence he went into the backyard and punched a dog then struck the dog several times with a metal bat before being confronted by a neighbour. The dog did not require immediate medical attention. The accused knows the owner of the animal.

Officers attended and located the accused still at the residence. During the investigation police contacted the Ontario SPCA.

As a result of the investigation Nathan Ronald Jacobs, 36, of Hilliard Street, was arrested and charged with killing, injuring or endangering an animal.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 13, 2019.

Warrant arrest:

A 19-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested on a warrant after a November incident where a victim was bear sprayed.

On November 7, 2018 the male victim was walking along Simcoe Street when a vehicle pulled up alongside him. The victim and some of the occupants in the vehicle became involved in a verbal argument. The victim and the vehicle occupants know each other. The vehicle then left the area.

A short time later as the victim was still walking, now in the area of Aylmer Street North, the same vehicle pulled up alongside the victim and the victim was sprayed with bear spray.

The incident was reported to police and officers investigated.

On November 7, 2018 a warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused, Jacob Royden Lamonday, 19, of no fixed address, Peterborough, for the charges of assault with a weapon and fail to comply with a sentence X2.

On Friday February 1, 2019 at approximately 1 a.m. the accused was arrested on the warrant while at the Peterborough police station.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Feb. 1).
