Friday February 8, 2019 – Peterborough resident arrested and charged with mischief after making several hang-up calls to police business line

Mischief Arrest:

A 41-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with mischief after making several hang-up calls to the police business line.

Between 8:15 p.m. and 8:41 p.m. on February 7, 2019 Peterborough Police dispatchers received approximately 15 phone calls to the police non-emergency business line, of which 13 were hang-up calls. The accused is currently on conditions from a previous incident not to contact emergency services unless there is an actual emergency matter where immediate attention is required.

As a result of the investigation Jacob Orion Prelosnjak, 41, of Water Street, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
  • Fail to comply with the conditions of an undertaking
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Feb. 8).
