Tuesday February 5, 2019 -Peterborough woman arrested on a warrant following convenience store robbery in late December

Warrant arrest:

A 22-year-old Peterborough woman has been arrested on a warrant following a convenience store robbery in late December.

At approximately 1:25 p.m. on December 29, 2018 two females entered a Parkhill Road East convenience store and approached the cash counter where they made a minimal purchase in order for the store employee to open the cash register.

Once the cash register was open one of the female suspects grabbed the cash register while the other female suspect sprayed the employee in the face with bear spray. The two female suspects then fled the store with an unknown amount of cash. Police were called and officers, along with the Canine Unit, were dispatched to the scene.

Through the investigation the suspects were identified. On December 30, 2018 officers attended a Peterborough residence where a 20-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged. (original media release). 

On December 31, 2018 a warrant was issued for the arrest of the second accused. On the night of February 4, 2019 officers located the second accused at a Peterborough residence.

Jenna Marie Kennedy, 22, of Chamberlain Street, Peterborough, was arrested on the warrant for the following charges:

  • Robbery with a weapon
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Feb. 5).

Dangerous driving arrests:

Two Peterborough teens have been arrested and charged following a dangerous driving incident in a Peterborough parking lot.

On January 29, 2019 at approximately 10:30 a.m. several witnesses observed two vehicles in a Peterborough parking lot swerving, spinning their tires and driving at excessive speeds while traffic and people were coming and going. Police were contacted and an officer attended and investigated.

As a result of the investigation on January 30, 2019 a 17-year-old Peterborough male was arrested at a Peterborough address and charged with dangerous operation.

On February 1, 2019 officers attended a Peterborough area address where a second 17-year-old Peterborough area male was arrested and charged with dangerous operation.

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on February 25, 2019.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act the name of a young person cannot be released.
