Assault causing bodily harm arrest:

A 35-year-old Burlington, Ontario man has been arrested on a warrant for assault causing bodily harm following a late March incident outside a Peterborough bar.

On March 31, 2019 the accused was evicted from a George Street North bar. It was reported that while outside the bar the male victim attempted to speak with the accused at which point the accused struck the victim in the face. The two men do not know each other.

The accused then left the area on foot. Police and paramedics were called and the victim was transported via ambulance to a local hospital.

On April 2, 2019 a warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused for assault causing bodily harm. On April 6, 2019 the accused attended the police station where he turned himself in on the warrant.

Alexander Spasic, 35, of Paula Court, Burlington, Ontario, is charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 25, 2019.

Sexual assault arrest:

A 27-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with sexual assault following an investigation.

On April 6, 2019 it was reported to police that while the accused and female victim were involved in a domestic relationship the accused sexually assaulted the victim while at a Peterborough residence in December of 2017.

On April 6, 2019 the accused attended the police station where, as a result of the investigation, he was arrested and charged with sexual assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 24, 2019.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released
