Friday April 12, 2019 – Peterborough man charged with two counts of attempt murder following investigation

Attempt murder Arrest:

A 27-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with two counts of attempt murder following an early morning incident.

On April 12, 2019 at approximately 2 a.m. the accused attended a residence in the area of Hunter Street where he became involved in a verbal argument with the two victims who were sitting outside the residence. During the argument the accused brandished a knife and both victims, a male in his 20’s and a female in her 20’s, were stabbed. The accused and the victims know each other.

The accused then fled the area on foot. Officers and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. The victims were transported via ambulance to a local hospital for treatment to their injuries.

A short time later the accused was located in the area of Rubidge Street.

As a result of the investigation Matthew Bredlo, 27, of Rubidge Street, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Attempt to commit murder X2

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (April 12).
