Wednesday April 10, 2019 – Peterborough woman arrested and charged with domestic assault following investigation

Domestic assault Arrest:

A 19-year-old Peterborough woman has been arrested and charged with domestic assault following an investigation.

On Tuesday April 9, 2019 the accused and female victim became involved in a verbal argument while at a Peterborough residence. It was reported that during the argument the accused struck the victim in the face. The victim left the residence and police were later contacted.

As a result of the investigation on April 9, 2019 officers attended a Peterborough residence where the accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault and fail to comply with a probation order.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 1, 2019.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic based incident the name of the accused will not be released.

Mischief Arrest:

A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing mischief charges after damage was caused to the windows at the police station.

On April 8, 2019 an officer saw a male throw a large rock towards the front entrance of the Peterborough Police station causing damage to a pane of glass.

The officer exited the station and located the male in the area of McDonnel and George Streets. Through further investigation it was revealed that the same male had caused damaged by throwing a rock at a window at the police station earlier that same morning.

As a result of the investigation Tyler Henderson, 25, of no fixed address, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 X2.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on April 9, 2019.

Assault Arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 27-year-old Peterborough man with assault following a Monday morning incident.

On April 8, 2019 at approximately 8 a.m. the male victim and other workers were conducting work on the sewer system in the area of Lansdowne Street West and George Street when the accused walked past them. It was reported that the accused then stopped and became irate with the workers swinging a board near the victim and then spat in the victim’s face. The accused then fled the area on foot.

The incident was reported to police and a description of the suspect was provided. Through the investigation the suspect was identified.

A short time later an officer located the suspect walking in the area of Lansdowne Street at Monaghan Road.

As a result of the investigation Ivan John Dawson, 27, of no fixed address, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with assault, fail to comply with a probation order and fail to comply with a recognizance.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on April 8, 2019
