May 9, 2019 at 8 a.m. to May 10, 2019 at 8 a.m.

Break and Enter:

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating following a break-in at a Water Street Residence.

Sometime between 3:00 pm on May 7, 2019 and 9:00 pm on May 8, 2019 an unknown person(s) broke into a Water Street residence by smashing a window. Once inside the person(s) stole a number tools.

Break and Enter Arrest:

A 35-year-old Peterborough resident has been arrested and charged with break and enter to a downtown business.

On May 8, 2019 employees noticed a door had been propped open and a lock on a display fridge had been tampered with. Surveillance footage was reviewed which captured the suspect inside the business.

Police were called. On May 9, 2019 Peterborough Police were able to identify the suspect and an arrest was made.

Clinton Wood, of Murray Street was arrested for break and enter. Wood was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 23, 2019.

Robbery:

On May 9, 2019 an unknown male approached an employee at a Lansdowne Street West business. The suspect placed a disguise over his face and asked the employee to turn over some merchandise from the business. Merchandise was turned over to the suspect without incident.

Prior to leaving the business the suspect restrained the employee in a back room. After several minutes the employee was able to free themselves and call police.

The suspect is described as male, non-white, 20-25 years, 6’3” to 6’5”, thin build, un-shaven with a thin face, black hoodie, blue ball cap with a white symbol.

The employee received minor injuries. No weapon was used during this incident.
