Friday May 17, 2019 – Peterborough man arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000 following investigation into misuse of company gas card

Fraud over $5,000 Arrest:

A 45-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000 following an investigation into the misuse of a company gas card.

On May 16, 2019 police received information regarding a male using a company gas card fraudulently. Through the investigation it was revealed that between February 4, 2019 and April 25, 2019 the male had made several transactions a day on a company gas card totalling approximately $6,874 that were not authorized.

As a result of the investigation on May 16, 2019 the accused was arrested and charged.

Bradley James Bolton, 45, of Douro 9th Line, is charged with fraud over $5,000.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (May 17).

Thefts from vehicles:

The Peterborough Police Service is asking anyone with information to come forward following several thefts from vehicles.

On the evening of May 16, 2019 police received several calls from two different locations, North Cavan Public School and the Kinsmen Arena, regarding windows being smashed and items taken from the vehicles. The thefts and damage took place on May 16, 2019 between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Domestic assault Arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 26-year-old Peterborough woman with assault and mischief following a Thursday afternoon domestic incident.

On the afternoon of May 16, 2019 police were dispatched to a Peterborough residence for a domestic assault. It was reported that while at the residence the accused assaulted the male victim, damaged a wall in the residence and also damaged a carpet.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (May 17).

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
