Wednesday July 10, 2019 – Peterborough man charged with child luring following online investigation

A 55-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with child luring as a result of an online investigation.

During the investigation the accused engaged in online chats with someone he believed was a 14-year-old child when in reality the accused was in communication with a member of the Peterborough Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.

On July 9, 2019 the accused was arrested in the City of Peterborough.

As a result of the investigation Keith Edward Burgess, 55, of Peterborough, is charged with the following:

  • Luring a child under 16 years of age

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (July 10).
