Impaired/Over 80mgs Arrest:

A call from a concerned citizen regarding an impaired driver has led to the arrest of a 44-year-old Peterborough woman.

On August 17, 2019 at approximately 9:15 p.m. a community member called police to report a person in the area of Rogers and Dufferin Streets who appeared to be intoxicated and about to get into a vehicle. Officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Dufferin and Elgin Streets where a traffic stop was conducted.

During the investigation the accused was found to have more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system while operating a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Wanda Lynn Prince, 44, of McKellar Street, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

The accused was issued an automatic 90 day drivers licence suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 19, 2019.

Incident Act Arrest:

A 54-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with indecent act in a public place following an investigation.

On August 17, 2019 at approximately 6:30 p.m. the complainant witnessed the accused performing an incident act outside a Peterborough apartment building. Police were called and officers attended.

As a result of the investigation Wayne Holland, 54, of Water Street, was arrested and charged with incident act in a public place.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 18, 2019.

Assault with a weapon Arrest:

A 14-year-old Peterborough teen has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon following an incident at a local home for youth.

On August 11, 2019 the accused, a 14-year-old female, became involved in an altercation with a youth worker at a local youth home. During the incident it was reported that that accused brandished a knife. The incident was later reported to police and officers investigated.
As a result of the investigation on August 17, 2019 the accused attended the police station where she was placed under arrest and charged with assault with a weapon.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 9, 2019.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act the name of a young person cannot be released.

Cause disturbance Arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 25-year-old Peterborough following a disturbance inside a Sherbrooke Street store.

On August 16, 2019 at approximately 8 p.m. police were called to attend a Sherbrooke Street liquor store for a disturbance. It was reported that the accused had entered the store in an attempt to engage in a physical altercation with another male and had caused a disturbance by chasing the other male around the store, yelling and swearing and knocking over items.

As a result of the investigation Colin Robert Kyle, 25, of Water Street, was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance and fail to comply with a probation order.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 4, 2019.
