Arrest on Domestic:

The victim and accused have been in a common law relationship for two years and reside together. On August 12, 2019 the victim attended the police station to seek advice regarding a domestic dispute.

During this conversion the victim disclosed in October of 2018 the accused assaulted the victim by pushing her to the floor and grabbed her by the neck. The victim sustained minor injuries.

As a result of the police investigation, a 34-year-old male was arrested on August 12, 2019 and charged with assault and breach of recognizance. At the time of this offence the accused was on bail conditions to not communicate with the victim.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on August 13, 2019. The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.

Possession of Stolen Property:

On August 6, 2019, the victim reported the theft of his motor vehicle. A Garmin GPS was also stolen from the vehicle. The victim discovered the GPS was being sold online.

Through investigation police were able to identify the person who was selling the GPS and determine the property did belong to the victim.

On August 11, 2019 police arrested the accused, in possession of the GPS, in a downtown parking lot.

Richard Campbell age 24, of McDonnel Street has been charged with possession of stolen property. Campbell was released and will appear in court on September 3, 2019.
