Wednesday September 11, 2019 8 a.m. to Thursday September 12, 2019- 80
On September 10, 2019, members of the Peterborough Police Traffic Services Unit, the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change conducted a collaborative detail targeting commercial motor vehicles in the City of Peterborough.
During the detail, 24 inspections were completed which resulted in 12 vehicles being taken out of service. In addition, 37 Provincial Offence Notices were issued for a variety of charges relating to the environment, vehicle defects and commercial vehicle administrative requirements.
“It has repeatedly been shown in the past the devastation that can be caused by unsafe commercial vehicles on our roadways. We are committed to working with our enforcement partners to ensure the vehicles being operating in the City of Peterborough, the Township of Cavan Monaghan and the Village of Lakefield are fit for the road” said Traffic Sergeant Ryan Wilson.
Members of the public are asked to contact the police if they observe any commercial vehicles that appear to be unfit to be on the road.
On September 11, 2019 at 9:30 pm Johnathan Irwin, age 21 was report missing to Peterborough Police Service.Irwin was last seen on foot in the area of Hospital Drive in the City of Peterborough.
Irwin has ties to both Peterborough and Durham Region. He is described as follows:
- white male
- 21 years old
- hazel eyes
- brown shaggy hair
- grey hoodie
- black pants
- running shoes
- black backpack

Attempt Break and Enter Arrest:
On September 11, 2019 at 11:45 pm the accused, Issaac Roberts age 22 from the Oshawa area attempted to gain entry to a Hazlitt Street residence. Homeowners called police.
Upon police arrival in the area, the accused was located on Oxford Street. The accused fled on foot. Police set up a perimeter and with the assistance of the K-9 Unit began to search the area.
While the search was continuing police were notified a male was attempting to break into a Caddy Street residence.
Officers responded to Caddy Street and began to search the area. At 11:30 pm police observed the accused walking eastbound on Euclid Avenue. The accused fled from police a second time. After a brief foot pursuit the accused was arrested in the area.
Issaac Roberts is facing the following charges: trespassing at night, possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, breach of probation, possession of a schedule 1 substance (cocaine), unauthorized firearm and attempt break and enter a place-to commit an indictable offence.
Roberts was held in custody and will appear in court on September 12th, 2019.
