Thursday September 12, 2019 8 a.m. to Friday September 13, 2019 8 a.m.- 94

Robbery Arrest:

In the early morning hours of September 12th, 2019 the two victims were invited to a friend’s residence on Crawford Drive.

Once the two victims entered the residence, through the front door, they were approached by the accused carrying a knife. The accused demanded the victims turn over their property.

The victims turned over backpacks, phones and a quantity of cash. After the accused had taken the victims property the victims fled the area and called police.

Officers attended the area in response to a robbery that had just occurred. Officers observed a male walking on Crawford Drive, near where the robbery occurred.

As a result of the police investigation the male was arrested for robbery. Police located property from the victims in the males possessions.

Michael MacKenzie, age 24 of Peterborough has been charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery with a Weapon x 2
  • Breach of Probation

The victims did not sustain any injuries. MacKenzie appeared in Provincial Court on September 12th, 2019.

Peterborough Pride Week:

The third week of September is Peterborough Pride, and tomorrow kicks of the 10 days of events. This year, for the first time, Peterborough Police will be flying the Pride and Trans flags outside the Station. Peterborough’s Pride Parade takes place Saturday September 21st.
