On October 1, 2019, an arrest warrant was issued for Joseph Kenneth Bright 38 years of Peterborough for the following offences:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance
- Fail to comply with recognizance
- Fail to comply with probation x 2
- Fail to attend court
On October 4, 2019 police located Bright in the area of Dublin and Aylmer Streets in the City of Peterborough where he was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant.
Bright was released from custody to appear in court on October 22, 2019
Peterborough Police are looking for public’s assistance in locating a missing person. The missing person is Destiny Paul, 18 years of age. Paul was last seen on the October 01, 2019. Paul is described as a Caucasian female, 5’4”, 105 lbs with dirty blonde shoulder length hair, brown eyes, wearing a light grey sweater, black tights and black Adidas shoes.

Weapons dangerous Arrest:
On October 5, 2019, shortly after 10 pm, the accused and victims began to verbal argue with each other on the driveway of an Otonabee Drive property.
After the verbal confrontation occurred the accused was removed from the Otonabee Drive property by the victim. As the victim returned to the residence the accused followed and removed a large machete from his backpack slamming it on a vehicle in the driveway and was then viewed waiving at the victims as the accused again left the property striking the machete off light poles as he left. Police were notified, attended and recovered the machete.
The accused, 19 year old Riley Redpath-Vendt of Peterborough was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Uttering Threats to cause Bodily Harm or Death
- Mischief Under $5000.00
Redpath-Vendt was released from custody and scheduled to appear in court on November 7, 2019.
Break and Enter Arrest:
On October 5, 2019 shortly after 10 pm, victims returned to their Chamberlain Street residence in the City of Peterborough to find that their residence had been broken into. Police attended and located a male in the area and after an investigation was completed the located male was arrested for the following offences:
- Break, Enter dwelling house and Commit indictable offence
- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Possession of Property obtained by Crime under $5000.00
The accused, 41yr old Aaron Sherwin was held in custody for court on October 7, 2019
On October 5, 2019 members of the Peterborough Police Service completed a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) detail. Throughout the course of the detail police stopped 817 motorists to assess their sobriety and no persons where deemed unfit to safely operate a motor vehicle.
In appreciation of Family Week the Peterborough Police Service will be hosting a free skate for the public on Tuesday October 8, 2019 from 330-500pm at Evinrude Centre located at 911 Monaghan Road. The service also encourages families to enjoy an e-free day on Wednesday October 9th.
