Monday November 25, 2019 – Lindsay, Ontario man arrested and charged after stolen credit card used at local businesses

Possession of stolen property arrest:

A 31-year-old Lindsay, Ontario man has been arrested and charged after a stolen credit card was used at local businesses.

On the morning of November 4, 2019 the complainant noticed that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of his Peterborough residence and stole a laptop, a credit card and other miscellaneous items. The stolen credit card was then used at a local gas station and at a convenience store. The incident was reported to police and officers investigated.

Through the investigation the male suspect was identified.

On November 24, 2019 the accused was arrested by the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service. Peterborough Police attended the City of Kawartha Lakes Police station and the accused was transported back to Peterborough.

Jamie Boundy, 31, of Lindsay Street North, Lindsay, is charged with the following:

  • Use of credit card X2
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 17, 2019.

Fraud Arrest:

A 45-year-old Brockville, Ontario man has been arrested and charged following a fraud investigation.

On November 7, 2019 police were contacted and began an investigation into 18 cheques stolen from a local business that were then fraudulently deposited into a variety of bank accounts. The incidents occurred between early June 2019 and early September 2019.

Through the investigation the male suspect was identified.

On November 24, 2019 officers attended a Hospital Drive address where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged.

Jason Oliver Russell, 45, of James Street East, Brockville, Ontario, is charged with the following:

  • Fraud under $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 12, 2019.
