Friday December 20, 2019 – Arrests made in Orpington Road convenience store robbery

Robbery with a weapon Arrests:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged two persons following a robbery at an Orpington Road convenience store.

On Thursday December 12, 2019 at approximately 5:36 p.m. officers were dispatched to an Orpington Road convenience store for a robbery. It was reported that while an employee was standing behind the counter two unknown males entered the store.

One of the males stayed at the entrance to the store while the second male approached the counter, brandished a knife, threatened the employee and demanded the employee open the cash register.

The employee was able to escape the store and the incident was reported to police. The two male suspects stole approximately three cartons of cigarettes then fled the area.

Through the investigation the two suspects were identified.

As a result of the investigation, on the night of December 19, 2019 officers attended a Peterborough residence where both suspects were placed under arrest.

  • Bryan Christopher Hanna, 25, of no fixed address, Peterborough, is charged with robbery with a weapon.
  • Colin John Youmans, 26, of King Street, Lakefield, is charged with robbery with a weapon.

Both accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court later today (Dec. 20).
