Calls for Service: December 27-30, 2019 = 200

Theft Arrest: 

On December 12. 2019 a male and female entered an East City grocery store and stole several items. The male was subsequently identified via video by police. On December 29, 2019 while on routine patrol an officer observed the male in the downtown core. The male was subsequently arrested for the theft.

Michael Thomas Cole (36) of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000.00. He was released and is to appear in court on January 14, 2019. The female in this matter is still unidentified.

Mischief/Utter Threats Arrest:

On December 29, 2019 the Peterborough Police were dispatched to the Greyhound bus terminal for an out of control male. On arrival they located a male who broke a window to the bus terminal with his head. The male was arrested and taken to the hospital to have his head wound treated. While at the hospital the male allegedly threatened a doctor who was trying to treat him.

Liam Whiteside (26) of no fixed address was subsequently arrested and charged with Mischief Under $5000.00 and Utter Threats. He was held in custody to appear in bail court on December 29, 2019.

Theft Arrest:

On December 27, 2019 a male entered a downtown business and took several romantic fragrances from the shelves. The male allegedly concealed the items and left the store without paying. Store security recognized the male from previous dealings and called police.

On December 28, 2019 the male was arrested for the alleged crime.

Larry Eskins (47) of John Street, Cobourg, ON was subsequently arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Fail to Comply with Conditions of undertaking. He was held in custody to appear for bail court on December 29, 2019.

Theft/Obstruct Peace Officer Arrest:

On December 27, 2019 two males and a female entered a North End store and placed a large quantity of items in a shopping cart. The pair allegedly went through the self-check out area and only scanned a few of the many items in the cart. The pair exited the store with the unpaid for merchandise and were stopped by store security. 

One of the males immediately fled the area upon interaction with security. As the other two were being brought into the store the female signaled for the male to run and both parties fled the area.

Store security and police successfully identified the latter two individuals and grounds for charges were formulated. Officers searched the area and located the two persons inside a coffee shop nearby. The two were arrested and upon arrest the female gave a false name to police.

Dalton Kennedy (22) of Murray Street, Peterborough and Naomi Locke Souter (25) of Murray Street Peterborough were charged with Theft Under $5000.00. Souter was also charged with Obstruct Peace Officer.

Both are to appear in court in January, 2020.

Utter Threats/Assault Arrest:

On December 28, 2019 the Peterborough Police were dispatched to the hospital on the report of an out of control male. On arrival police located hospital security fighting with a male. Police learned that the male had threw a large rock at security guards. During the incident, the male allegedly threatened to kill hospital staff.

David Schule (21) of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon and Utter Threats to Cause Death. He was held in custody.

Theft Arrest:

On December 26, 2019 a male entered an East City grocery store, selected a quantity of items and allegedly left the store without paying for them. The offence was caught on camera. Police observed the video and positively identified the male.

As a result Curtis Chrysler (26) of Aylmer Street, Peterborough was arrested and charged with Theft under $5000.00 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

He is to appear in court on January 7, 2019.
