Theft arrest:

A 31-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with theft following an investigation.

On December 10, 2019 police were contacted regarding a theft at a Chemong Road store. It was reported that the accused selected various items and left the store without paying for the merchandise.

As a result of the investigation the male was identified and arrested on December 21, 2019. Alexander William Lavallee, 31, of King Street, Peterborough, is charged with the following:
• Theft under $5,000
• Fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 15, 2020.

Mischief Arrest:

A 24-year-old Toronto man has been arrested and charged with mischief following an incident at a local business.

On December 15, 2019 at approximately 5:00 p.m. police were dispatched to a local business in regards to mischief where it was reported to police that the accused caused damage to the ATM.

As a result of the investigation Jeffrey Michael Ardron, 24, of Wellesley Street, Toronto, was arrested and charged with the following:
• Mischief under $5000
• Fail to comply with recognizance
• Fail to comply with probation

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 14, 2020.

Theft arrest:

A 40-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with theft following an investigation.

On December 20, 2019 police were contacted regarding a theft at a Lansdowne Street business. It was reported that the accused stole an item of clothing and left the store without paying.

As a result of the investigation the male was located by security and arrested. Jason Christopher Richards, 40, of no fixed address, is charged with theft under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 9, 2020.

Over 80mg Arrest:

A 27-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system following Peterborough Police Service’s Christmas RIDE enforcement detail on December 20, 2019.

At approximately 10:20 p.m. officer’s conducing the RIDE detail observed a vehicle leaving the parking lot of a licenced establishment located in the city’s west-end. The vehicle was stopped and a subsequent breath test revealed the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system while operating a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Gregory Scott Topping, 27, of Ross Street Peterborough, was charged with the following:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80plus

The accused was issued an automatic 90 day drivers licence suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 16, 2020.

Mischief Arrest:

A 26-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with mischief following an incident at a local residential building.

On December 21, 2019 at approximately 4:40 a.m. police were dispatched to a local residence in regards to a fire alarm. Upon arrival it was determined the alarm was false. It was reported to police that the accused damaged a large portion of drywall in the hallway and pulled the fire alarm while exiting the building.

As a result of the investigation Shawn Michael Munro, 26, of George Street North, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with the following:
• Mischief under $5000
• False fire alarm

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 15, 2020.

Theft arrest:

A 29-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with theft following an investigation.

On December 21, 2019 police were contacted regarding a theft at a Lansdowne Street business where it was reported that the accused stole several items of jewellery and left the store without paying for the merchandise.

As a result of the investigation the male was located by security and arrested.

Donald Richard Thibault, 29, of Parkhill Road West, Peterborough, is charged with the following:
• Theft under $5,000
• Possession property obtained by crime under $5000
• Fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 16, 2020.

Assault with a Weapon/ Weapons Dangerous Arrest:

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges including assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous following an incident in downtown Peterborough.

On December 22, 2019 at approximately 5:30 p.m. the male victim was at the corner of King Street and George Street where he was confronted by another male who brandished a knife and held it against the victims body.

The incident was later reported to police and officers investigated. The victim and accused in this incident know each other. Officers attended a Peterborough residence where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was placed under arrest.

Mark Anthony Gray, 33, of Rutherford Avenue, Peterborough, is charged with the following:
• Assault with a weapon
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 21, 2020.
