Tuesday December 3, 2019 – Police investigating robbery at Lansdowne Street West gas station

Robbery:

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating following a Monday afternoon robbery at a local gas station.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on December 2, 2019 an unknown male wearing all black entered a Lansdowne Street West gas station, threatened the store clerk demanded the clerk give him free gas. The unknown male then filled up a jug of gas and was last seen fleeing west on foot.

Break and Enters:

The Peterborough Police Service is asking anyone with information to come forward following a break-in to a Village of Lakefield pet shop and two attempted break-ins at other Village businesses.

Between 4:25 a.m. and 4:50 a.m. on November 29, 2019 an unknown person(s) attempted to break into a laundromat located in a commercial plaza in the Village of Lakefield. Also during the same time period an unknown person(s) broke into a pet supply shop located in the same commercial plaza. Once inside the store the person(s) entered the cash register and stole an amount of cash, a charity donation box and a bag of pet food.

At approximately 4:20 a.m. on November 30, 2019 an unknown person attempted to break into a Queen Street convenience store located in Lakefield. Police attended the store for an alarm call and investigated. There was no entry gained and it appears nothing was stolen.

Break and Enters:

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating following two break-ins at a local laundromat.

On November 24, 2019 at approximately 4:15 a.m. an unknown male and female entered a Lansdowne Street West laundromat and once inside the suspects attempted to break into several washing machine change boxes but were unsuccessful. The suspect then gained entry into a locked storage room and stole multiple cleaning supplies.

On November 30, 2019 at approximately 6 a.m. an unknown male and female re-attended the same Lansdowne Street West laundromat and once inside stole a large amount of change from multiple change boxes and soap dispenser change boxes.

It appears the suspects in the two incidents are likely the same persons.

The suspects are described as follows:

  • Average build
  • Wearing a black winter coat, black pants and black shoes

Suspect #2

  • Female
  • Caucasian
  • 5’4” tall
  • Average build
  • Wearing a black winter coat with fur on the hood
  • Grey sweat pants
