Friday January 17, 2020 – Peterborough man facing charges including dangerous operation and criminal harassment following two incidents

Dangerous operation Arrest:

A 39-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges including dangerous operation and criminal harassment following two incidents.

On January 15, 2020 the accused and female victim, currently in a domestic relationship, became involved in a verbal dispute while at a Peterborough residence. During the argument the accused demanded the victim get into a vehicle to which she complied. The accused then entered onto the Highway 115 where he reportedly drove between 160-200kms while weaving in and out of traffic. The victim was eventually dropped off at a Peterborough residence.

Later that same day the accused and victim became involved in another dispute. The victim left the residence in her vehicle. It was reported that the accused followed the victim in his vehicle driving aggressively behind her in a dangerous manner and at a high rate of speed.

The vehicles eventually came to a stop, the incident ended and parties separated and left the area. The incident was reported to police the morning of January 16, 2020 and officers investigated.

As a result of the investigation on January 16, 2020 officers attended a Peterborough residence where the accused was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Dangerous operation X2
  • Criminal harassment – threatening conduct
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Jan. 17).

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

Break and enter Arrest:

A 20-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with break and enter following a Thursday morning incident.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. on January 16, 2020 the accused attended a Peterborough residence where the residents advised he was not welcome. It was reported that the accused then kicked at a door resulting in the door breaking open and attempted to force his way into the residence. The accused and the persons inside the residence know each other. The parties inside the residence were able to force the accused out of the residence and police were contacted and attended.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. on January 16, 2020 officers located the accused in the area of Bethune Street where, as a result of the investigation, he was placed under arrest.

Brayden Jeffery Nolan, 20, of no fixed address, is charged with break and enter.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Jan. 17).

Break-in: Charlotte Street

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating following a break-in at a Charlotte Street clinic.

Sometime between 4:30 p.m. on January 14, 2020 and 8:30 a.m. on January 15, 2020 unknown person(s) broke into a clinic in an upper unit of a Charlotte Street building and stole items including a laptop and tablet.
