A 60-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with an additional six counts of sexual assault in an ongoing investigation involving incidents at a local spa.
On December 9, 2019 a victim attended a Peterborough spa for a massage. It was reported that during the appointment the accused, employed as a registered massage therapist at the time, sexually assaulted the victim. As a result of the investigation, on December 10, 2019 officers attended a Peterborough residence where the accused was arrested and charged with sexual assault.
On December 12, 2019 it was further reported to police that during a massage appointment on December 6, 2019 at the same local spa the victim was sexually assaulted and assaulted by the accused. As a result of that investigation the accused was further charged with sexual assault and assault.
Since those reports, an additional six new victims have come forward to police.
As a result of that further investigation, on January 24, 2020 the accused, Gerard Sylvester Rodrigues, 60, of Parkhill Road West, attended the police station where he was charged with an additional six counts of sexual assault.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court later today (Jan. 24).
